NEW HAVEN - There could be loud bangs in the area Tuesday afternoon as F-15 and Cessna fighter jets flew over eastern Connecticut and Massachusetts as part of an exercise.

NORAD announced in a statement that it will conduct the Fertility Eagle air defense exercise from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET. October 20th.

"The exercise included F-15 fighter jets and a Cessna 182T General Aviation civilian air patrol aircraft. Some parts of the exercise may involve flying at an altitude of about 3,000 feet and may be visible from the ground. If the weather prevents the flight, the exercise will be held on the second day," the official said.

According to the announcement, the exercise Hawk Pora is "a repeating effort in support of Operation NOBLE EAGLE, which emphasizes surveillance and control of Canadian and United States airspace."
