Folding Glock Roni - By now we have all seen and known about Micro Roni systems. The Israeli designed and manufactured products have been around for a while. The idea is simple. The Micro Roni's turn your standard shotgun into a great SMG pack. With the rise of gun stabilizing clamps, these devices have become more popular. The latest Micro Roni Gen 4 model comes equipped with durable power. The safety brace standards are more predictable than the standards that require you to register your firearm as an SBR. As readers would like, we got our hands on one so we can test and review our own Roni Glock.
Roni's used gear is very good, but has seen a significant drop in price. At this point the Glock and Roni kits cost almost the same as the higher end PCCs. The Gen 4 model has many new features, including:
Folding Glock Roni
The Micro Roni Gen 4 retains the safety brace design that also folds to the right. At the top we have a long optic rail, which I took advantage of. On both sides we also have some small rails to hold your favorite flashlights, lasers and more. At the bottom of the unit is a QD port for a string. The front of the gun has an angled grip and a hand grip, so your hand does not slip in front of the barrel. Finally, there is a hinge device that acts as a barrier. This security is somewhat necessary because you can secure this device. It's good to have some sort of cause and effect when you run it slung, especially if you plan on letting it hang.

Installation is very easy. In the rear is a button, press it, and this opens the rear hinged door. When you open, you pull the charger behind you and push the Glock into the charger. It should follow the serrations of the Glock slide. When it is closed, you push the Glock forward where it locks into the Glock rail. Close the door, push it forward and lock it in place. That's it.
You're still stuck with your Glock grip angle, but you can reach forward and find more support with the perfectly angled forward grip. This angle grip makes it easy to connect to any of the accessories you have installed in the kit.
Magazines and releases are all Glock - nothing changes about reaching and using them. Safety is quick and easy to reach and is easy to engage with the index finger on either side. On the back we have an ambidextrous charging hand which is very easy to reach and use. The charger repeats itself, but the handle on the side is small and far enough away from you that it won't hit you when you're cycling.

The length of the strap is short, as it should be, as it is designed to wrap around your forehead. In this capacity, it is the perfect length for many shooters. If you said use the strap and put it on your shoulder, you will find it a bit short. In principle you can do this, but you will also notice that it is tight and it seems to flex a bit when shooting. Shooting a Roni Glock with a strap is impossible. When fully folded, the bracket covers the trigger and trigger guard.
As you can imagine, the Micro Roni Kit makes the gun much easier to control. The added bracket, weight and ability to hold the gun with the front grip all make the gun easier to control. You can quickly and accurately change the target and score well with little effort.
You can go back a little, and by a little, I mean more than I can with my stock Glock. Add a red dot optic and I consistently go back fifty yards and target man. The truth is as good as it gets for the Glock in the chassis. It's not as accurate as a dedicated PCC like Scorpion or MPX, but it's accurate enough.
Rapid-Fire is also very easy to control and a ton of fun. I pulled the trigger as fast as I could and kept the race very close. I could not keep up with this group just with the rifle as fast as I could.
Micro Roni 4x
One advantage of using this system over using the PCC is that you can keep all of your Glock upgrades. Yes, you can save your results, continue Slide Stop newsletters, etc. It will be easier to convert from your Glock to your Roni Glock than from a Glock to a PCC.
My biggest challenge is zeroing in on the red dot. It sat a little higher than the bore and was shooting high, so I pulled it down a bit to finally get it on target. What works better is a micro red dot, like the Trijicon RMR. However, this worked when it was null.
Gear like this is why I have 50 barrels for my Glock, along with tons of extras. They just balance better in the Glock with the Roni kit. This is especially true of the drum magazine which gives a strange recoil impulse when it is slapped into the gun.

Roni Gen 4 kits with straps go for less than $300 on average and that's not a bad price at all. Compared to the average Glock price, you can get into one of these kits for around 750 to 800 dollars - depending on your Glock generation and features. These systems do not work with the polymer 80% reduction Glock so be aware of that. Roni kits also come in SBR variants with several different features and most can be found at YRS Inc.
